PICNIC INFORMATION | 2024/25 season

Thank you for choosing the Picnic at Vergelegen.  The price of the Vergelegen Picnic excludes:

• Entrance fee – R20 for adults, R10 for pensioners and scholars
• Wine/beverages
• Gratuity – A 10% gratuity charge will be added for groups of 8-15 and 12.5% for groups of 16 or more.

Please Note: This season, picnics are held on the banks of the Lourens River and not in the Camphor forest.

Please ensure that you stipulate at least 24 hours before the date of the picnic whether any vegetarian or vegan picnics are required.

DEPOSIT

For groups of 8 pax or more, a deposit of the cost of a standard picnic basket per person (R495 pp for the 2024/25 season) will be required in order to secure the reservation – payable within 24 hours of making the reservation.  Therefore, once the reservation has been made, you will receive a payment link, via Dineplan, which will request a deposit payment for the total number of picnics booked.

• We recommend bringing proof of payment to the picnic on the date of your reservation

Important to note when making a group booking, should the picnic be canceled due to adverse weather conditions, whilst any monies paid will be refunded (please see below), unfortunately there is no Plan B for your group as such, unless we are able to accommodate the guests in one of the Vergelegen restaurants, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Please see below a summary of the deposit terms:

The company will pay a full refund of the deposit amount to the customer who paid the deposit in the event of:

• The customer canceling the reservation up to 48 hours prior to the start of the reservation time;
• The company closing the picnic due to adverse weather conditions;
• Refunds for cancellations or changes within 48 hours of the reservation will be at the sole discretion of the company.
