Explore the beauty of 325-year-old Vergelegen wine estate’s spectacular spring gardens with a guided walk, led by knowledgeable horticultural managers Richard Arm and Chris Randlehoff.
This is the perfect opportunity to discover the history and stories of Vergelegen’s plantings, while gaining expert horticultural insights and seasonal gardening tips.
Highlights include, but are not limited to, the formal rose garden laid out in the estate’s traditional octagonal design, and the historic Octagonal garden. The path to the homestead is lined by herbaceous borders showcasing traditional blooms such as foxgloves, delphiniums, Dutch iris, salvia, poppies, nigella and accent grasses.
The walks take place from Thursday 16 October to Saturday 18 October, 09h00-11h00. Tickets cost R295 per person and include:
- Entry to the estate
- Guided walk with the Vergelegen horticulturists
- Tea, coffee and a scone at the Café Fleur studio after the walk.
The Potting Shed Gift Shop will also hold its annual plant sale and pop-up nursery, so all Vergelegen visitors ‒ not only those on the tour ‒ can stock up on homegrown estate plants and bring Vergelegen’s beauty to their own gardens.
