A charming new attraction for breakfast, tea and light lunch enthusiasts is blooming at Vergelegen wine estate in Somerset West.

 The Rose Terrace Tea Room, which offers a delightful escape into a world of floral elegance and delectable treats, has just opened its doors.  

Floral ambiance: The Rose Terrace is perfectly located beside a glorious rose garden. The roses’ breathtaking beauty creates a serene, scented atmosphere.

Tea selection: Guests enjoy popular  blends such as Ceylon, Earl Grey, mint, chamomile and rooibos.

Delectable cake creations: Satisfy your sweet cravings with an ever-changing  range of cakes, from traditional favourites to innovative one-of-a-kind creations. The menu includes a gluten-free cake, scones and clotted cream, plus a tart of the day.

Savoury specials: The menu includes items such as croque monsieur (the ultimate ham and cheese sandwich), smoked salmon bagel, quiches, pork pie with piccalilli and Waldorf salad,  and coronation chicken open sandwiches.

The Rose Terrace is the perfect place for a relaxed gathering of friends, or a soothing solo retreat. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.

Address: Vergelegen Wine Estate, Lourensford Road, Somerset West. Estate entrance fee R20 for adults, R10 for pensioners/scholars.

Opening hours: Daily Monday-Sunday 09:30 – 16:00, no bookings accepted.
